acetic acid (5-acetoxy-1-naphthyl) ester - Introduction
1,5-napthylene di(acetate)(1,5-naphthalene diacetate) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C14H12O4. It is a white crystalline solid, soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, esters, etc., but poorly soluble in water.
1,5-napthylene di(acetate) is mainly used as a starting material and intermediate in organic synthesis. It can be used for the synthesis of organic compounds with naphthalene skeleton structure, such as the synthesis of fluorescent dyes, drugs and materials with special photoelectric properties. Due to its high melting point and thermal stability, it can also be used as an additive for high temperature lubricants.
The method of synthesizing 1,5-napthylene di(acetate) is usually obtained by reacting 1,5-naphthalenediol with acetic anhydride. The reaction is generally carried out under basic conditions at an appropriate temperature.
Regarding safety information, 1,5-napthylene di(acetate) is not currently classified as a particularly hazardous chemical. However, as a chemical substance, care should be taken to avoid contact with skin, eyes and inhalation of dust or gas. Wear appropriate protective equipment and maintain good ventilation during use. In case of inadvertent contact, rinse the affected area immediately with clean water and seek medical help. Avoid contact with oxidants, acids, strong bases and other substances during storage, and keep away from open flames and high temperatures.
